Manager of Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach Released a Statement in Reply to the Allegations of a Brunei Businesswoman

Recently there was an issue that occurred against Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach, in which a Brunei businesswoman Kathelyn Dupaya expresses her dismay against Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach to her instagram account. She said that she invited Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach to Brunei to have some fun and relax and to attend the soft opening of her spa since the beauty queen is very much interested in going to Brunei, of course, all expenses will be shouldered by the said businesswoman miss Kathelyn. But things didn't go as what she expected, Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach brought the whole family of her boyfriend Marlon Stockinger to the trip and they didn't show up in the soft opening of her spa. She said that they only stayed in the hotel the whole trip and she is the one paying all of it. Here is the post that Brunei businesswoman Kathelyn Dupaya shared on her instagram account:

Huwag ka magbigay babala sa mga tao pupunta sa brunei para mag ingat sa akin. Unang-una, wala kaming pinakita sau masama nung pumunta ka dito yung binigay namin service kaiba kung compare sa iba celebrities. Mga celebrities at beauty queen pumunta dito walang security guard, ikaw ilan ang hinanda namin para mabigyan ka ng maganda welcome sa brunei hindi ka lang marunong mag appreciate kasi hayop ang ugali mo hindi ka man lang magpasalamat sa mga pagod namin.

And another thing is Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach is not as friendly as Miss Universe Philippines Maxine Medina. Take a look at this photo:

Apparently, last April 23 2017, the said businesswoman apologized to Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach through her post in her instagram account saying:

And here is the released statement of Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach's camp:

I thank Kathy for clarifying the issues she raised against Pia, and for apologizing for what she has done. Clearly, what happened was misunderstanding as she never heard Pia talk bad about anything. Pia is thankful for the hospitality that Kathy provided during her private vacation in Brunei.

As her manager, I was prepared to answer Kathy's claims, but she reached out to clarify her issues. Communication is really important to settle conflicts and prevent misunderstanding.

We learn from mistakes, however, and I hope what happened will serve as a lesson for artists, talents, managers and producers to formalize arrangements in order to avoid confusion and any problem.

Meanwhile, Pia is focused on her career, and watch out for her next endorsement, even as she continues to promote her advocacies on anti-bullying, and HIV/AIDS awareness and helping an organization send kids to school. In the next days, she will start to play a big role in these efforts.
