The Final Announcement of Liza Soberano as Darna and Its Casts

The decision of choosing who could be the next Darna happened last week. They decided that Liza Soberano will be the next Darna to fly this year. And by that, many netizens disapproved that choice since Soberano is a bit chubby for the role, she doesn't look strong and whenever she speaks Tagalog she is a bit slang. Nevertheless, the big bosses still want Soberano to play the role and they even made a final announcement this week.

As you can see on the star magic Instagram account with a username "starmagicphils", they posted a picture of Soberano holding the Darna series magazines with a caption of "It's OFFICIAL Liza Soberano is DARNA!". Another picture is posted by star magic with the same caption as the other picture and in that picture, Soberano is with her manager Ogie Diaz and the big bosses.

   

According to reliable sources, Anne Curtis will be playing as Valentina, a role inspired by Medusa. She will be the next Celia Rodriguez, Pilar Pilapil, and Pilita Corales who also played this role before in various Darna movie versions. In addition, they are planning to add another villain which is Iza Calzado since Calzado is a very fit for a villain role. And another surprising comeback actress is Maricel Soriano and she will be playing the role as the mother of Soberano’s character in the movie. Meanwhile, the role for Ding is still open but their best candidate for this role is Onyok of FPJ's Ang Probinsyano Primetime TV show.

Will this movie a big hit as what they had expected? Or will this be a flop? Since it has a lot of bad feedbacks. A lot of netizens didn't approve of their decision that Soberano will be the Darna. And also the cursing post issue of Director Erik Matti, the Die-Hard Duterterte Supporters are planning to boycott the movie. Oh well, we'll just wait and see what could be the result.
